The House leader Hassan Oyeleke, who spoke under matters of urgent public importance said Rasheedi's exploits in the football world put Kwara State on the global map hence the need for him to be immortalized.
The House speaker also said the late soccer ambassador scored 37 goals for Nigeria in 58 appearances with active participation in many tournaments and all the members of the House unanimously agreed for him to be immortalized.
Rasheedi Yekini, who as born in Kaduna was a native of lra in Oyun Local Government area of Kwara played for Vit�ria de Set�bal in Portugal and died in May 2012 at the age of 48.
